Tequesta is an incorporated village and the northernmost municipality in Palm Beach County, Florida with a population of 6,158 at the 2022 US Census. Tequesta was founded in the 1950s as a planned community centered on the Tequesta Country Club and incorporated in 1957 with total area of 2.2 square miles, of which 1.8 square miles is land and 0.5 square mile is water.
Named after the Tequesta Native American Indians, the Village of Tequesta is located along U.S. Highway 1 to the west of Jupiter Inlet Colony. The Jonathan Dickinson State Park is north and west of Tequesta, Jupiter is south, and the Atlantic Ocean with its blue waters is east of Tequesta.
Most of the village is located on the mainland but parts of the village are on Jupiter Island in Martin County, with small sections both north and south of the unincorporated, county-owned Coral Cove Park. Coral Cove Park’s most prominent feature of the beach is the natural limestone which is part of the Atlantic Coastal Ridge. The limestone rocks make this a great snorkeling area and fun for all ages.
Many of the homes in Tequesta are located along the Loxahatchee River and the Indian River (or Intracoastal Waterway). Therefore the homes have boat docks and are a popular location to live because of the fishing and watersports on the rivers and ocean, which is very near via the Jupiter Lighthouse and Inlet.
Each search shows listings of homes, condos, townhouses, & villas when available.
