Delray Beach was named “Most Fun Small Town in the USA” by Rand McNally and USA Today. You can enjoy the boutiques, art galleries, and restaurants that line Atlantic Avenue. On the north side of Delray is Boynton Beach, Highland Beach and Boca Raton are on the south, one the east side of Delray is the Atlantic Ocean, and the west side has acres of natural wetlands.
Delray has a 2 mile stretch of pristine family friendly beach. There are a wide range of entertaining activates for all ages: Cornell Art Museum, Spady Cultural Heritage Museum, Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens, Delray Beach Tennis Center, Pineapple Grove Arts District, Wakodahatchee Wetlands, and Sandoway Discovery Center.
The Delray Beach Tennis Center has brought business to the area. It has hosted several major international tennis events, such as the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships (ATP Event) and the Chris Evert – Bank of America Pro Celebrity.
Revitalization of some historic areas began during the last decade of the twentieth century, as several local landmark structures were renovated. Delray has established five Historic Districts, listed in the Local Register of Historic Places, and annexed several other historic residential neighborhoods between U.S. Route 1 and the Intracoastal Waterway.
