West Palm Beach, founded in 1894 by Henry Flagler, is the oldest incorporated municipality in South Florida, is the county seat of Palm Beach County, and is the most populated city in the county. Most of the people in this city, about 40%, live along the Intracoastal Waterway.

According to the 2022 US Census, the population in West Palm Beach was 117,415. And West Palm Beach has a total area of 58.2 square miles with 55.1 square miles being land and 3.1 square miles being water.

Generally West Palm Beach is located next to Riviera Beach on the north side,  Lake Worth and Palm Springs on the south, Intracoastal Waterway on the east,  and Loxahatchee, Westlake plus Grassy Waters Preserve on the west side.

West Palm Beach offers an abundance of activities for all ages: Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens, CityPlace, popular Flagler Dr area along the Intracoastal Waterway, Clematis Street, Kravis Center for Performing Arts, Norton Museum of Art, Palm Beach Atlantic University, Palm Beach International Airport, Palm Beach County Convention Center, Palm Beach County History Museum, Palm Beach Pops, South Florida Science Museum, plus the Atlantic Ocean and Intracoastal Waterway.
